Types of Data collected

Among the types of Personal Data that this Website collects, by itself or through third parties, there are:

  • Identifiers from Google sign-in: Google account unique identifier (sub), email address, name, profile picture URL, email-verification status.
  • OAuth credentials for Google Tag Manager: access tokens and refresh tokens, scoped to the Google Tag Manager permissions you explicitly grant during sign-in. These are stored encrypted at rest.
  • Content you provide: recipes you submit (including their title, description, vendors list, container JSON, screenshots), gallery templates you upload, and any text you enter into the Service's input fields.
  • Account activity: the recipes and templates you add to your workspace, your submission history, status of submissions (pending review, published, rejected), and timestamps of these actions.
  • Technical Data automatically collected on every request: IP address, user-agent string, request URL, HTTP method, HTTP status code, request and response timestamps. Used for operational logging, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.
  • Session Data: an encrypted session cookie issued by the authentication layer to identify you between requests once signed in.

Unless specified otherwise, all Data requested by this Website is mandatory and failure to provide this Data may make it impossible for this Website to provide its services. Users who are uncertain about which Personal Data is mandatory are welcome to contact the Owner.

Any use of cookies — or of other tracking tools — by this Website serves the purpose of providing the Service required by the User, in addition to any other purposes described in the present document and in the Cookie Policy.

Users are responsible for any third-party Personal Data obtained, published, or shared through this Website (for example, if you submit a recipe whose configuration includes identifiers belonging to other parties).

Mode and place of processing the Data

Methods of processing

The Owner takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorised destruction of the Data.

The Data processing is carried out using computers and IT-enabled tools, following organisational procedures and modes strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to the Owner, in some cases, the Data may be accessible to certain types of persons in charge involved with the operation of this Website (administration, sales, marketing, legal, system administration) or to external parties such as technical service providers, hosting providers, IT companies, and communications agencies appointed, when necessary, as Data Processors by the Owner.

OAuth refresh and access tokens granted by Users via Google sign-in are stored encrypted at rest using a libsodium symmetric secretbox cipher. Plaintext tokens are not persisted to disk or logged.

Place of processing

The Data is processed at the Owner's operating offices and at the locations of the parties involved in the processing.

This Website's application servers and Postgres database are hosted on infrastructure operated by Hostinger in France (European Union). Recipe screenshots and other binary uploads are stored on Cloudflare R2 with EU-region buckets. Google authentication and Google Tag Manager API calls are processed by Google LLC; transfers of Data to Google in the United States are governed by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Depending on the User's location, Data transfers may involve transferring the User's Data to a country other than their own. To find out more about the place of processing of such transferred Data, Users can check the section containing details about the processing of Personal Data.

Retention time

Personal Data shall be processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose they have been collected for.

  • Account Data (Google identifiers, name, email, image): retained for as long as your account exists. Upon account deletion, the row is deleted from the production database; backups roll off according to the host's retention schedule (typically within 30 days).
  • OAuth tokens (Google Tag Manager): held for the duration of the linked Google grant. You can revoke access at any time via myaccount.google.com/permissions; the revocation will be detected on next API call and the encrypted tokens will be marked invalid.
  • Submitted recipes / gallery templates: retained for the lifetime of the Service unless you delete them via the dashboard, or unless they are removed by moderation under the Terms and Conditions.
  • Operational request logs (IP, user-agent, URL): retained for 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then deleted.
  • Session cookies: lifetime of the session; deleted on sign-out or expiry.

Personal Data may be retained for a longer period whenever the User has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. Furthermore, the Owner may be obliged to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever required to fulfil a legal obligation or upon order of an authority.

Once the retention period expires, Personal Data shall be deleted.

The purposes of processing

The Data concerning the User is collected to allow the Owner to provide its Service, comply with its legal obligations, respond to enforcement requests, protect its rights and interests (or those of its Users or third parties), detect any malicious or fraudulent activity, as well as the following:

  • Registration and authentication — verifying that the person signing in controls the Google account they claim to control; creating and maintaining your User account.
  • Access to third-party accounts — calling Google Tag Manager APIs on your behalf when you explicitly initiate an action that requires it (currently behind a feature flag; not enabled in production by default).
  • Hosting and backend infrastructure — running the application servers and database that the Service depends on.
  • Storage of user-generated content — accepting and serving screenshots and other binary uploads you choose to include with your submissions.
  • Building and running this Website — operational measurement (counts of requests, error rates) needed to keep the Service available.
  • Spam and bots protection — rate-limiting and request-pattern detection to prevent abuse.

Further detailed information about the purposes of processing and the specific Personal Data used for each purpose can be found in the section "Detailed information on the processing of Personal Data".

Detailed information on the processing of Personal Data

Personal Data is collected for the following purposes and using the following services:

Registration and authentication

Sign in with Google (Google LLC)

Google sign-in is an authentication service provided by Google LLC ("Google") that uses the OAuth 2.0 protocol. The Service requests, and may receive from Google after you grant permission:

  • Your Google account unique identifier (sub)
  • Your verified email address
  • Your name and profile picture URL
  • Your verification status

When you grant Google Tag Manager scopes (only during the install flow, currently behind a feature flag), the Service additionally receives an access token + refresh token bound to those scopes. Tokens are stored encrypted; the Service uses them only when you explicitly trigger an action that needs them.

This Website's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as needed to provide or improve the Service, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to you. We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements. We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or for internal operations where the data has been aggregated and anonymised.

Personal Data processed: Google account ID, email, name, profile picture URL, email-verification status; OAuth access and refresh tokens (encrypted, only for Tag Manager scopes you grant).

Place of processing: Ireland (EU). Transfers to Google LLC in the United States are governed by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

You may revoke this Website's access to your Google account at any time via myaccount.google.com/permissions or by deleting your account on this Website.
